Outreach

The Outreach Team go out in the evenings to places such as bus, railway stations and temples where homeless old people are known to sleep. The team supply clothes and blankets as well as food, and will help in any way possible.

Sometimes they are asked to provide medical help, in which case they admit the elderly person to the Care Home for treatment.

Jacob's is always on call to help an elderly person found ill or injured on the street.

The residents clean the rice and pack the food every day for the Outreach team to take out. Sometimes one or two of them go with the team to meet and talk with other elderly people who live on the street. Having been in desperate situations themselves the Jacob's residents like to tell the people they meet how Jacob's might be able to help them with any problems.
